Guests have the added convenience of a dedicated cottage concierge to coordinate requests before and during their visit. When we woke up late one morning, a kind concierge came to our door and brought us freshly baked muffins and pastries. Check out the rocky South Shore Beach and go park-hopping at Wilbour Woods and Little Compton Town Common. Start your vacation in Third Beach with access to children-friendly boat ramps. The Norman Bird Sanctuary nature preserve is also on this beach, with camping opportunities for anyone interested. Ocean House is a large, Victorian-style waterfront hotel originally constructed in 1868 on Bluff Avenue in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. The original 1868 hotel closed in 2003; it was demolished in 2005 and a new facility opened in 2010 on the same site which retained much of the original structure's form and appearance, as well as the original name. Both the original and its reconstruction are noted for their rambling Victorian architecture and distinctive yellow siding.
It also incorporates new elements, including subterranean facilities and two new wings extending from the main building, which also shield neighboring residential areas from hotel activities. The Ocean House Club is a special year-round organization offering members dining, beach and workout and activity privileges. As a special treat for guests who stay in one of Ocean House’s 18 Signature Suites or seven cottages are invited to enjoy dining in the exclusive club room, with its own fireplace, bar, dining area and deck.
